Coronach ("Pro Patria Mori"): Meditation for violin and piano (1889, arr. 1918)
This is a brief, lyrical piece for violin and piano by British composer Granville Bantock (1868-1946), subtitled "Pro Patria Mori" (Latin: "To perish for the fatherland"). It was composed early in his career, before he gained recognition as one of the leading figures in British music along with his friend Edward Elgar.
