Ethelbert Nevin (1862-1901) composed a great deal of light music in both the popular and classical realms. With two exceptions, his songs and orchestral music here are rarely heard. Of course his most famous works by which he is best known today, "Narcissus" and "The Rosary," also in this collection, have assured his place in American musical history.
