Aallottaret, Op. 73 (The Oceanides)
A 1914 tone poem by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865-1957). This piece depicts the oceanids, who were a group of water nymphs in Greek mythology, the daughters of Ocean and Tethys. The Finnish title "Aallottaret" means "Spirits of the Waves."
