A tribute to the master whose career was cut short due to the War. He was also the man Oistrakh thought would have surely won the Wieniawski Competition in which he Oistrakh himself won 2nd and Neveu won 1st. Gimpel also toured around Europe in a chamber group with Władysław Szpilman (watch the film, THE PIANIST), Henryk Szeryng and others at one point before the War. It's unfortunate he's never reached the height of fame like his colleagues had.
