This lecture was called The XX Century Crisis

Leonard Bernstien talks about the 20th century contemporary music. The end of romanticism in the classical world and the age of modern contemporary classical music. He starts with composers like Ravel,Mahler who were trying to sustain tonality whereas people like Charles Ives, Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg and Anton Webern were setting up a different school of compositions with non tonal or A- tonal or dodecaphonic music. A very informative lecture as he also discusses how romantic composers had also used all the 12 tones in there compositions as well which also included Mozart and Beethoven.
