Ioan Scarlatescu (Bucharest, 1872 - Bucharest, 1922)

Ioan Scarlatescu was a versatile musican, he began his career as a pianist; also wrote plays and was active as a music critic and harmony teacher. He composed about 50 ballads for voice and piano; a string quartet; "Rumanian Rhapsody" for orchestra; several other pieces in the Rumanian style, among which the "Bagatelle" for violin became famous. Arranged here by Theodor Ragalski.
