Aldo Ciccolini (1925) performs Tchaikovsky's piano concerto in B flat minor, Op. 23. André Cluytens (1905-1967) conducts the Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire (established in Paris in 1828, and which gave its first concert on March 9, 1828 with music by Beethoven, Rossini, Meifreid, Rode and Cherubini). Cluytens conducted the orchestra from 1946 until 1960. His predecessors included Georges Marty (1901-1908); André Messager (1908-1919); Philippe Gaubert (1919-1938); and Charles Münch (1938-1946).

This performance of the B flat minor concerto was recorded July 25 July, 1951 at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
