T.Grindenko: Brahms Violin Concerto at Wieniawski Violin Competition

This is a Polskie Nagrania recording of Tatiana Grindenko's performance of the first movement of the Brahms violin concerto, played at the 1972 International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznan, Poland. Grindenko -- representing what was then the Soviet Union -- won first prize at the competition, followed by Shizuka Ishikawa (Japan), Barbara Górzynska (Poland), Tadeusz Gadzina (Poland), Graczija Arutunian (USSR), Stefan Czermak (Poland) and Edward Z. Zienkowski (Poland). The recording was issued on the Muza label, SXL 0926. Renard Czajkowski conducts the Poznan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
